With many R&D challenges, they have all been solved with an open innovation network such as TekScout. TekScout is known for completing many complex challenges and problems such as the one that was presented to them by the Harvard Business School in 2006. The Harvard Business School was conducting a study to see how scientific problems could be solved outside the community that had enabled many R&D intensive firms. The study showed that 1/3 of the problems that were presented could not be solved through the internal network, however TekScout was able to help solve the problem by opening the companies to seeking solutions out of their usual internal network, which in the end, did solve the challenge efficiently.
